Hello friends and happy Tuesday! We’re getting into the last few weeks of not only December but of 2017 which means it’s time to start thinking about the best, well everything, of the year! As I mentioned last week, the last few remaining Top Fives will be focusing on my “best of 2017” lists and today we will be starting with the best characters of 2017. I can’t really decide if this should be the best new characters from new releases or the best characters from anything I’ve read this year, regardless of release date, so I’m gonna try to mix it up. And in all fairness, all characters are new to me this year so there’s my loophole. It’s gonna be hard to narrow this down to just five so bear with me.
Here is today’s Top Five Tuesday: Characters of 2017!
Hello friends and happy Friday! Unlike last week I’ve actually managed to post this on the right day of the week! Haha, I know it’s not the biggest deal but when you have a system and schedule you always feel the need to stick to it so I promise not to get sidetracked again. Anyways, I’m really excited about this week’s character. I’ve been holding off on this one for a while now, mostly because I’ve been saving them for the right time and I think now is that time. This character is one that makes the series they appear in worth it. Sure, the story is really great too but whenever I rec the series to friends I always say “do it for this character” because I need my friends to meet them. So if you can’t tell, I’m so in love with this character and you should be too.
Hello friends and happy end of the month! I cannot believe we’re almost at the end of the year. How did that happen? I’ve been so out of it that I didn’t even realize it was time for month in review. But now we can start getting ready for Christmas and all those fun things, like presents and decorating the tree and Christmas baking!! I’m getting ahead of myself so let’s get back to the books. Not too many new books came out for me this month but I still managed to get some good reads in! Plus, I completed my reading challenge! A month early! I’m sure I could’ve changed it again but I wasn’t in the mood to, but my goal is a really big accomplishment for me so it doesn’t even matter. I’m proud of myself.
As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.
And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.
In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.
Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.
Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.
The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.
Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.
Hello friends and happy Friday! Can you believe that a month from now it’ll be Christmas Eve? That’s INSANE. Anyways, I hope everyone’s had a good week, one that was better than mine since I’ve been sick all week (full disclosure: colds sucks). But I’m not letting this cold take COTW away from me so let’s get down to it! I’ve had a few characters bouncing around in my head but some of them are relatively new to me so I want to wait a little bit more until I shine a spotlight on them, but our character today is still a great pick. This is a character that I’ve mentioned before in one of my Top Five Tuesday posts and I honestly can’t believe I haven’t picked them yet. They’re sweet, supportive, thoughtful, and someone I’d truly love to have in my life.
“We all hold a beast inside. The only difference is what form it takes when freed.”
Rain Ryland has never belonged anywhere, He’s used to people judging him for his rough background, his intimidating size, and now, his orphan status. He’s always been on the outside, looking in, and he’s fine with that. Until he moves to New Wurzburg and meets Friederike Burkhart.
Freddie isn’t like normal teen girls, though. And someone wants her dead for it. Freddie warns he’d better stay far away if he wants to stay alive, but Rain’s never been good at running from trouble. For the first time, Rain has something worth fighting for, worth living for. Worth dying for.
Hello friends and happy Tuesday! As I was thinking about what to do for our weekly list today, it occurred to me that while I covered which book covers I love and think are beautiful I never fulfilled the promise I made of doing a counter-list, meaning the covers that I don’t like. Well, now is that time. Like I said before, I’m the type of person who judges books by their cover because sometimes you just have to. And there have even been times where a cover has been gorgeous but the book was terrible so overtime you learn that sometimes your judgement is justified. Now, it’s not that these covers are the worst in the world but they’re just not up to my particular standards. You should expect to see a lot of NA covers here because those covers are so bad. Like really, really bad. It’s the one fault of NA, in my opinion.
Here is today’s Top Five Tuesday: Worst Book Covers!
Hello friends and happy Monday! I hope everyone’s had a good day so far. I’ve been stuck in a car all day so I’m absolutely wiped out but I always have time for a moodboard.
Today’s Moodboard Monday is dedicated to the infamous Ronan Lynch from Maggie Stiefvater’s series, The Raven Cycle. I always love giving Ronan some of my love and since he’s one of the only things I care about in this series he deserves his own moodboard. If you have yet to meet Ronan I highly recommend that you do. He’s a delight in a non-delightful way.
History is on repeat, and things didn’t go so well the last time.
Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her eighteenth birthday–to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner… and so is Aiden.
If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time “training”–which really is just Seth’s code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time–she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she’s caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed… and destroyed.
Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate…
