TOP FIVE TUESDAY ♡ SHIPS PT.2

Hello friends and happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a good day. A few weeks back in one of my Top Five posts, I focused on ships and had stated that there would be a part two in the near future because there are too many good ships in the world for me to only pick five. So, here we are! It’s time for a continuation! For those who need a little reminder, a “ship” is essentially two people that you’d like to see together in a relationship.

Here is the continuation of Top Five Tuesday: Ships!

MOODBOARD MONDAY ♡ ONE OF US IS LYING

Hello friends and happy Monday! I hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful fall day.

Today’s Moodboard Monday is dedicated to Karen M. McManus’ fantastic book, One Of Us Is Lying. By now you should all know how much I love this book because I haven’t been able to stop raving about it since I read it back in June. It’s SUCH a good book and one of my absolute favourites for so many reasons. Seriously, you need to pick up this book if you haven’t already. I want the whole world to read this book.

CHARACTER OF THE WEEK ♡ OCTOBER 13

Hello friends! Usually this is the part where I’d say “happy Friday” but seeing as today is Friday the 13th I can’t imagine it being all that happy. Or I guess it depends. But overall I’d think it’s safe to say that this Friday was particularly spooky. Anyways, it’s the end of the week so we should all know the drill by now. Part of me thought that I should pick a spooky character today but I don’t know that many spooky characters so I guess that’s not gonna happen. But our COTW is still a good one! I’ve been wanting to do this one for so long that it’s killed me to put them off but I need to show them all the love now. I kind of mentioned this character offhand a few weeks ago and I remember saying that I was gonna save them for another time, and that time is now. I love this character so much. Like, SO much. They’re definitely a character I’d file under “deserves the world” because they do. They’ve done so much for the people they care about and are just so good.

This week’s character is…..

REVIEW ✧ IF THERE’S NO TOMORROW

33998316
“What does waiting do? None of us are promised a tomorrow…We don’t always get a later. I’m done living like we do.”

☆☆☆☆

A single choice can change everything.

Lena Wise is always looking forward to tomorrow, especially at the start of her senior year. She’s ready to pack in as much friend time as possible, to finish college applications, and to maybe let her childhood best friend Sebastian know how she really feels about him. For Lena, the upcoming year is going to be epic—one of opportunities and chances.

Until one choice, one moment, destroys everything.

Now Lena isn’t looking forward to tomorrow. Not when friend time may never be the same. Not when college applications feel all but impossible. Not when Sebastian might never forgive her for what happened.

For what she let happen.

With the guilt growing each day, Lena knows that her only hope is to move on. But how can she move on when she and her friends’ entire existences have been redefined? How can she move on when tomorrow isn’t even guaranteed?

TOP FIVE TUESDAY ♡ SPORTS CENTRIC BOOKS

Hello friends and happy Tuesday! I have a few topics I’d like to do for my Top Five lists but today we’re gonna talk about books that heavily focus on sports. Now, I would just like to give a little disclaimer and say that I hate 99% of sports; the only true sport I love is baseball and yes, I’m very invested in the World Series right now. So while I hate sports, I have nothing against the players and that is why I always find myself reading books about athletes. Listen, athletes are hot and it’s not my fault that a ton of NA authors like to focus on this fact. So I’m probably technically cheating by saying that this Top Five is about sports since I’m focusing on the story and the characters rather than the actual sport, but they’re still sport centric so it’s fine.

Here is today’s Top Five Tuesday: Sports Centric Books!

MOODBOARD MONDAY ♡ THE SELECTION

Hello friends and happy Monday! And to all my Canadians, Happy Thanksgiving!! I have had so much food this weekend I feel beyond stuffed. But I regret nothing.

Anyways, for today’s Moodboard Monday I’ve dedicated it to a book series I am truly thankful for because it’s what really got me back into reading over two and a half years ago: The Selection by Kiera Cass. There is so much I love about this book, from the story to the romance to my boy Maxon, all of it. I’m really glad I read this book and it rekindled my love for reading.

TOP FIVE TUESDAY ♡ FANTASY WORLDS

Hello friends! I hope everyone’s having a good day. So, for today’s Top Five, this is something I’ve been wanting to do for weeks but it was either not the right time or I could never figure out which ones to pick. But I think it’s finally the right time and I’ve figured out which ones to talk about. Everyone loves a good fantasy book, right? And in my opinion, what truly makes a good fantasy book is the fantasy world it lives in. They’re the places you wish you could escape to or places that you would love to be real places. I’ve read a lot of fantasy books in my day, meaning that I’ve been to a lot of worlds so it’s hard to just pick five but I managed to do just that.

Here is today’s Top Five Tuesday: Fantasy Worlds!

REVIEW ✧ THE LANGUAGE OF THORNS

34076952
“This goes to show you that sometimes the unseen is not to be feared and that those meant to love us most are not always ones who do.”

☆☆☆☆

Love speaks in flowers. Truth requires thorns.

Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid’s voice can summon deadly storms and where a river might do a lovestruck boy’s bidding but only for a terrible price.

Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, #1 New York Times–bestselling author Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love.

Perfect for new readers and dedicated fans, these tales will transport you to lands both familiar and strange—to a fully realized world of dangerous magic that millions have visited through the novels of the Grishaverse.

This collection of six stories includes three brand-new tales, all of them lavishly illustrated with art that changes with each turn of the page, culminating in six stunning full-spread illustrations as rich in detail as the stories themselves.
